Homeowners reveal that their deeds have disappeared from banks after years of 'safe keeping':
Yesterday afternoon a number of callers took to the airwaves on RTÉ Radio One to speak about how they had lodged their title deeds with their banks and can no longer access them. One caller spoke about how she lodged the title deeds of her house with her bank 16 years ago but when she returned this year to retrieve them she was told the bank did not have them. This of course raises major concerns for home owners who may be faced with the cost of reconstituting their title deeds. How the banks will address this issue is yet to be seen. However, in recent times banks have started to move away from storing title deeds indefinitely, therefore property owners are being left with the responsibility of securely storing their own title deeds.
Building on our experience in document, media and vault storage, Glenbeigh Records Management (GRM) have developed a solution for property owners to securely store their house deeds offsite in our highly secure storage facility.
