Installation of Temperature Screening Thermographic Camera

(18 May 2020)

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to protect our staff and their families, Glenbeigh Records Management have implemented an additional health and safety measure at our facility whereby the temperature of staff and essential visitors is automatically taken upon entering. Access will not be permitted to those with a temperature above 38°, which indicates the possible presence of a fever – one of the key symptoms of Covid-19, and they will be notified.

This measure is facilitated through the installation of a Hikvision Temperature Screening Thermographic Camera in our reception area which is specifically designed to detect elevated skin-surface temperatures in moving crowds, and can thus be used for rapid and preliminary fever screening, with accuracy up to ±0.5°C. It immediately triggers an alarm to notify the operative when a person with a temperature above 38° enters. Persons who are granted access, having temperatures below the 38° threshold, are asked to use hand sanitiser before proceeding.

This new layer of safety at our site helps us aid, albeit in a small way, in the fight against the spread of COVID-19. It is in addition to all the advice we are following from health authorities including making personal hygiene products available such as hand sanitiser and wipes throughout our offices; placing hand-washing and respiratory hygiene signage throughout our facility; cleaning our facilities more regularly; implementing a one way system in the storage warehouse where possible; creating segregated working areas; and changing seating arrangements.
