Archival Scanning
Glenbeigh Records Management has invested significantly in a comprehensive range of scanning technologies for different material types. We only use specialised equipment which protects the integrity of the material while capturing images that are highly accurate representations of the originals. Over the last 20 years, we have built up extensive in-house expertise in this area and have developed meticulous processes for carefully handling and processing fragile material which our staff are trained in.
Our archival scanning expertise extends beyond imaging and includes image enhancement, watermarking, creating derivative file formats including text-searchable files, capturing metadata, indexing files in line with an agreed naming convention, linking digital files to their corresponding metadata on a database, securely delivering the digital files, and quality control on all of the above. These services are supported by our onsite records centre division which provides secure transportation and storage options, ensuring we are placed to offer a complete service package.
We have worked with libraries, museums, research centres, and historical societies to not only preserve their archives but to make them more available and accessible.
Given the nature of archival scanning projects which are sometimes complex in terms of the variety and sizes of materials, technical specifications required, and timelines, we offer a free initial assessment and material review to help develop a tailored solution. This can be followed by a pilot project.
