Book Scanning

Our book scanning service enables the digitisation of large collections, the creation of ebooks and the preservation of old bound material. This service is driven by our expert team and our leading range of book scanners, designed for rapid and high-quality scanning.

Over the course of the last fifteen years, we have encountered numerous types of bound volumes and have built up a wealth of experience delivering these projects to the satisfaction our of clients.

Bound Scanning

This solution is for clients who want their bound volumes to stay intact. We use specialist overhead book scanners which capture highly-quality images from books facing up, eliminating the need to unbind them. These scanners facilitate sizes up to A1 and they are equipped with adjustable book cradles, ensuring the spine of the book is fully protected. We have a specialist team who are dedicated to scanning bound volumes. This team is trained in fragile material handling, ensuring precious collections are handled correctly throughout the scanning process.

Zeutschel OS

Non-Bound Scanning

This solution involves the binding being removed from the bound volume before scanning the pages with our document scanning service, which is a more cost-effective approach and offers a faster turnaround time. It is ideal for material that is no longer required in bound form. We use a specialised book guillotine to carefully unbind the books. The pages are then rapidly scanned by our document scanning team, utilising industry-leading document scanning technology which can facilitate sizes up to A3 and produce high-quality images in any format. Paper sizes A0-A2 are facilitated by our large format scanning service.
